Contemporarily,various electronic gadgets like iPhone and iPad have taken up most people’s leisure time.To prevent ourselves from addiction to the virtual world and create a harmonious atmosphere in the family,we need to have regular meals with our family,phones powered off.It seems,at least to me,the best cure for lacking family communication.
What on earth can regular family meals bring to us?The most important reason above all is that it’s a golden chance to show your love and concern to your family.When taking meals with your family,not glued to the screen,the smile on your face,the interesting stories you share and the intimate eye contact between you and them will all become the signals of love.In this way,everyone in the family is ready to bridge the gap,sometimes even the gulf,between each other.
Apart from the priceless love,family members can also get relieved from the pressure of the competitive society and the fast-paced life at the dinner table.Some people contend that the virtual world in phones and computers can shelter them from the real world,but they are totally wrong.The virtual world is not virtual,which can never relieve your stress.Contrarily,to talk about troubles to your family at the table is an easy access to solving them because at least you are willing to share your sorrows with someone you trust.In this way,the mental stress will gradually diminish.
In fact,it’s not the meal that plays a role in caring for a family,but the time spent together during the meal that matters.Hopefully,all of us can enjoy regular family meals.After all,it is what we can easily do but fail to.
